THE TRUST CALLED PARENTING BY OLUWABUSAYO ADEBOWALE (PART 3)

6. KEEP THEIR MIND GATES

God has called them to be separate and consecrated. When my first daughter was three years old, God said to take her off TV totally. Prior to then, I censored the cartoons she watched, but the instruction was clear. We aligned... months later, my husband was tired of it and subscribed, but it refused to come up. Nothing was wrong with the decoder, by the way. It was at this point he surrendered. Guess who started experiencing Heavenly visitations and amazing encounters? The 3-year-old the Lord instructed me to take off the TV. Keep their mind gates pure. This also speaks to what they hear. There are places you shouldn’t take them to. Atmospheres they shouldn’t be in. It can be your childhood friend's child's birthday.... let wisdom guide you. Preserve that Holy thing.

7. COVER THEM IN PRAYERS

You and your spouse should have times you meet to pray for them. Pray for them and build spiritual covering over them. There are structures in SOMI that help this. We pray for SOMI pearls and children all over the world every Thursday at 1 p.m. on the clubhouse app. It is an assignment God gave Mama Peggy Ovat, and she has stewarded for over a year, but only a few people join in.

Every parent and potential parent here should be there. Please mark your calendars and be a part of it. Encounter Ground on SOMI also has a prayer meeting for kids (YouTube - @encounterground). Engage people!

8. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR OTHER CHILDREN

As you meet children daily, leave a piece of Jesus with them. Not just your biological children. You can volunteer to serve in SOMI Pearls and be a blessing to the next Generation. Children in your neighborhood, church and your friend's children take responsibility for them. Get them saved, filled with The Holy Spirit, and growing in their walk with God. Invest prayers, time, and effort in them... God is well pleased.

9. LET THEM INTO YOUR WALK WITH GOD

Tell them about your encounters. It is interesting that the children of Israel preserved the testimony of God from generation to generation by word of mouth and storytelling. So powerful. Every generation that missed out on this always did evil in God’s sight. Judges 2:7 - 13, Jeremiah 35:1 - 19.

When we are trusting God for things as a family, we all pray, and it is usually a joy, especially for the kids when it comes. Eden still speaks of a day when Daddy needed to pay for something in his business urgently, and there was no money. I told her, and we prayed together. God told her it was done. This payment had a deadline, and it was midnight. We prayed in the morning, and Eden kept asking her dad, "Have you seen it? God said He has sent it."... At 9 pm, an unexpected alert came in that took care of the payment... oh we all celebrated, but her joy surpassed our own. She hasn't stopped talking about it. That is just one out of the many miracles we have experienced as a family. I remember the first time Ruach said her first three words... it was "Thank you, Jesus." We had just experienced a supply of God, and we thanked Him profusely for it. As we did... she started shouting, "Thank you, Jesus!" Her first three words. Kai! She hasn't stopped too... when power is restored, her shout of "Thank you Jesus!" will remind us to thank Him. When the light goes too... her "Thank you, Jesus!" will remind us to be thankful and not complain.

These are ways you can lead your child and the children around you to Christ. Please remember that it starts with you, and God is counting on you. Shalom!
